The Dry run

 Hi Kapish,

It's almost June 2022 - time for you to officially start your schooling program!
We have taken your admission to Kinfolk Montessori school in Whitefield because we wanted to make sure that we try and provide you with the best possible education. At this stage, you probably have little idea of what is to come, but it was a very exciting time for Mumma, Ajji, and me

Now, you need to know that at this point, Mumma is working as the Center head of a pre-school cum daycare called Little Big World and close to Mothers' Day, she decided to do a small activity in the center with mothers and wanted to take you along to see how you will adapt to the new surroundings for one day

So, with a new bag and hair all tied up nicely, we took you along to the center and dropped you off at the entrance


Just as I was about to say Goodbye, you said the word "Dadoo" and indicated me to join you as well in the center, but then since Mumma was next to you, you went along without any complaints

One good thing about Little Big World, is that we could see your progress throughout the day via the webcams which were installed and, Ajji and I were almost glued to the mobile app, checking on your progress and making sure you weren't in any sort of discomfort

You seemed to gel in well (despite Mumma not being around all the time) and did spend some quality time with the other kids around you. We even saw you take help from one of the care-takers and finish off the chapati which Ajji had packed for you

Later on, Mumma did come to check on you and completed the planned activity of painting your hands on a piece of heart and taking pics with little boards which were designed especially for this occasion


Overall, it was a very successful day, and you did co-operate to a large extent which gave us the confidence that you would get adjusted very quickly at the school as well
But for the record, May 6th 2022, was officially your very first experience of staying away from home in an educational atmosphere - all thanks to your Mumma

Ebbanad - II

(This is a continuation from Ebbanad - I. Please read that before continuing here) Our next destination was the forest shack where we were to camp that night. It was a 30 minute downhill trek and we were welcomed there with gracious helpings of veg pulao and curd rice. After rejuvenating ourselves, we began the main part of the trek – through the forests. Ever since our guide had joined us, he had kept telling us stories about their encounters with elephants and tigers. It had raised our hopes of catching a glimpse of a few along the way. But the important thing to remember was that the experience of the guides had been accumulated over decades of years and by calculating the average it was obvious that our chances of seeing any animal in one day was very bleak. A Fairytale....

It was the 4th of July, I was in Mumbai looking forward to what was probably the most important day of my life. It was also the day that the Rain gods showered the might of the rains, on this island city. Little did they know that the rains were the last thing to stop me from meeting the most important girl I had ever known and to express my feelings for her. It had been raining all morning and I had kept my fingers crossed that it would eventually stop. I delayed my departure from my home for an hour in that hope, but at 11am I simply put on my jacket and left. I told her that I would be reaching at around 12:30pm, considering all the delays in the train……and it was real heartening to see her concern for me, as she made sure that I call her multiple times during my train journey from Tilaknagar to Vile-Parle . It took me well over an hour to reach my destination. I know, I know…I choose train station to meet my loved one. Most unromantic…...that too considering that I was half soaked...
