Nutririon lesson
Hello Kapus,
Growing up, you will surely hear a lot of people (including me) tell you that you were always a picky eater. And while your overall energy levels and health has always been good, we were all a bit worried about your weight gain
You would mostly like home-made food and even there you have a few favorites to choose from. Curd rice, dal rice, phodis (potato and cauliflower), a few select veggies and ofcourse fried fish and chicken curry. When it came to fruits, you would enjoy Banana throughout the year and Mangoes' when in season
While this pallet was really good, if you think about it - the variety was missing and it was our consious effort to try and help improve that so that it would not only benefit you but also enable us to travel more freely
Today, the 1st of September, Kinfolk happened to conduct a Nutrition Talk in school which both Mumma and me attended and while most of what was said you were already doing, there were a few take-aways for us to try and incorporate
- Eat atleast 1 meal together as a family: general practice was that you would eat first and then we would sit to have lunch or dinner, but we wanted to change that
- Use the dining table and high chair more often for food (and not the sofa in the living room)
- Increase your intake of Eggs, Ghee and other essential milk products like cheese
- Add more physical activity in your routine so that you are actually hungry
- Involve you more in the kitchen so you get the feeling that you helped cook the food which you will eventually consume
It will take some time, but we hope to gradually succeed
Overall aim is simple - you have to grow to be a healthy person!
Cheers,
Prasan
