Birthdays

Hi Kapish,

In the past 3 weeks' since celebrating your Birthday, you also happened to attend 3 other birthdays and you showed some very encouraging behaviour 

 

First, was your friend Arvi's 6th birthday. You took active part in it and became very social mixing around with friends from DSR

 

Second, was Apurva's birthday - she turned 8 and had you attended the party with a different set if audience and even played musical chair and variety of other games. In the quiz section, you answered the name of the planet with rings and also brought home a nice 5 Star chocolate 

 

Third, was our new neighbour, Dhairya's 11th Birthday. You were obviously the tiniest tot in the room, but there was one incident which Mumma distinctly remembered - One of the cakes was a sports themed cake and while the boys in the room literally fought for which topping they wanted, you went on your own - picked a few Oreos', a Mazza and sat on the sofa and enjoyed yourself. Even Dhairya's father complimented your very 'sorted' attitude 

 

The fourth birthday was again a DSR friend - Zoey. Here, there was literally no one from DSR. Infact, Zoey was surrounded by her friends from Klay school and when you went to join them, they even told you that you are not in their class

That did not deter you 1 bit. Over the next 30mins, you insisted on being around them and blended in beautifully and danced with them all the way till the end 

There was another unique thing you did for Zoey and that is to make a Birthday card with your own hands with a little help from Mumma


I hope this is the first of many Birthday cards which will belong in your DIY cabinet

Ebbanad - II

(This is a continuation from Ebbanad - I. Please read that before continuing here) Our next destination was the forest shack where we were to camp that night. It was a 30 minute downhill trek and we were welcomed there with gracious helpings of veg pulao and curd rice. After rejuvenating ourselves, we began the main part of the trek – through the forests. Ever since our guide had joined us, he had kept telling us stories about their encounters with elephants and tigers. It had raised our hopes of catching a glimpse of a few along the way. But the important thing to remember was that the experience of the guides had been accumulated over decades of years and by calculating the average it was obvious that our chances of seeing any animal in one day was very bleak. A Fairytale....

It was the 4th of July, I was in Mumbai looking forward to what was probably the most important day of my life. It was also the day that the Rain gods showered the might of the rains, on this island city. Little did they know that the rains were the last thing to stop me from meeting the most important girl I had ever known and to express my feelings for her. It had been raining all morning and I had kept my fingers crossed that it would eventually stop. I delayed my departure from my home for an hour in that hope, but at 11am I simply put on my jacket and left. I told her that I would be reaching at around 12:30pm, considering all the delays in the train……and it was real heartening to see her concern for me, as she made sure that I call her multiple times during my train journey from Tilaknagar to Vile-Parle .
