The K's and the G's
Hi Kapus,
The work "kapus" or cotton, which started as a cute nickname for you has in the past 3years become 'Tapishh'
If you want to know the reason behind this transition, I first need to tell you that you were pretty fast in picking up stuff. This includes alphabets, words, numbers, and even poems (though you sung them in your own sweet style by adding words that you felt had the best fit)
So by the time we celebrated your 3rd birthday, you could identify and name all 26 alphabets in the English language (upper and lower case along with their phonic sounds), the Hindi barakhadi, numbers up to 20, sing 3 to 4 poems and a few aarti's as well
The list doesn't end there - you could also tell us the days of the week, months of the year and name all the planets in the Solar system along with their moons' (especially those which were mentioned in the NatGeo Big book of Space)
So much so, that we even had a planet-themed cake for your 3rd birthday!
However, the cutest part of all this was while you started to pronounce all these complex words and phrases, there were 2 letters that you pronounced wrong
K which had the phonic sound kuh, would be pronounced by you as tuh (This automatically extended to the letter C as well in many cases)
G which had the phonic sound guh, would be pronounced by you as duh
Hence, you would love to read your booth in your free time, play on the dreen drass and also eat your favourite fruit - Mando!
Your first official vacation happened to be in Doa and your nickname went from Kapus --> Kappish and eventually ended up as Tappish
I don't know when you will start to pronounce these letter correctly, but until then Mumma and me have surely enjoyed this cute aspect of your life
Regards,
Dadoo
