Grade-1 - Here I come!

Dear Kapish,

Today marked a very special day fr all of us and I wanted to write about it immediately!

As you are aware, you are currently completing the Mont-3 year in Kinfolk and next year would need to move to a new school. We have looked at different options, but took only one seriously - The Valistus International School, which offered the IGCSE board of education 

However, you had to play the most important part of attending the assessment session and they had called us today, with you, for just that

Now, we knew that, so far, you had never attended any such assessment or test in your life and we did try and prep you up a bit by giving some mock tests (both written and verbal). But we wanted you to be natural when they spoke to you and rest the left to fate

So, when we reached the school, you seemed normal chirpy. But you did go a bit quiet when Stella Ma'am came to greet you and took you inside for the assessment. You were a bit reluctant, but went with her nevertheless - for the next 30 to 40 minutes, we just sat there, hoping you would give your best shot

But when you arrived out of the room with Anu ma'am, we were in for a surprise!

Anu ma'am mentioned that you had done very well in the test for Grade 1 level and even went to compliment you on the patience you showed in completing the tests and assessment. Mumma was curious to know what all you answered and so they even showed us, briefly, the sheets where you had completed. There were some maths number sequence, addition of 2+2, 3+3, 4+4 and most surprisingly you read two paragraphs and answered all the questions which were asked

The end result was the they confirmed that you are eligible for Grade-1 admissions and just a while back we received official confirmation on the same

Ebbanad - II

(This is a continuation from Ebbanad - I. Please read that before continuing here) Our next destination was the forest shack where we were to camp that night. It was a 30 minute downhill trek and we were welcomed there with gracious helpings of veg pulao and curd rice. After rejuvenating ourselves, we began the main part of the trek – through the forests. Ever since our guide had joined us, he had kept telling us stories about their encounters with elephants and tigers. It had raised our hopes of catching a glimpse of a few along the way. But the important thing to remember was that the experience of the guides had been accumulated over decades of years and by calculating the average it was obvious that our chances of seeing any animal in one day was very bleak. A Fairytale....

It was the 4th of July, I was in Mumbai looking forward to what was probably the most important day of my life. It was also the day that the Rain gods showered the might of the rains, on this island city. Little did they know that the rains were the last thing to stop me from meeting the most important girl I had ever known and to express my feelings for her. It had been raining all morning and I had kept my fingers crossed that it would eventually stop. I delayed my departure from my home for an hour in that hope, but at 11am I simply put on my jacket and left. I told her that I would be reaching at around 12:30pm, considering all the delays in the train……and it was real heartening to see her concern for me, as she made sure that I call her multiple times during my train journey from Tilaknagar to Vile-Parle .
