Redemption

Dear Kapish,

Back in Jan, during the Republic Day celebration, I had written about a little debacle when you saluted with the wrong hand and did not show up with the kind of energy we were used to see from you. But that day, you also promised that you will be back with a bang - and today, on the eve on India's 79th Independence Day, you did just that!

The medley was much longer this time around (4 songs lasting a total of over 5 minutes) and from the first second you were easily the stand-out in the junior batch with some really energetic moves and a power packed performance. You did not miss a single step and even the salute was inch-perfect

Now, this is how once needs to bounce back!

Even some parents standing in the crowd applauded your spirit and appreciated the effort you put into your dance - Well done...

And so Kapish, always remember this - there will be days when you are not at your best and you may feel let down despite all the hard-work. But it's not a time to give up - infact, you need to work harder, put in more effort and make a comeback that would make everyone stand-up and applaud

Now, going ahead, we are not so much in favour of you continuing your dance class in the Junior batch. We are either considering to promote you to the Senior batch or go for something else - like Gymnastics 

Let's see where life takes you - for now, we just have to say that we are and will always remain Super-Proud of you

Ebbanad - II

(This is a continuation from Ebbanad - I. Please read that before continuing here) Our next destination was the forest shack where we were to camp that night. It was a 30 minute downhill trek and we were welcomed there with gracious helpings of veg pulao and curd rice. After rejuvenating ourselves, we began the main part of the trek – through the forests. Ever since our guide had joined us, he had kept telling us stories about their encounters with elephants and tigers. It had raised our hopes of catching a glimpse of a few along the way. But the important thing to remember was that the experience of the guides had been accumulated over decades of years and by calculating the average it was obvious that our chances of seeing any animal in one day was very bleak. A Fairytale....

It was the 4th of July, I was in Mumbai looking forward to what was probably the most important day of my life. It was also the day that the Rain gods showered the might of the rains, on this island city. Little did they know that the rains were the last thing to stop me from meeting the most important girl I had ever known and to express my feelings for her. It had been raining all morning and I had kept my fingers crossed that it would eventually stop. I delayed my departure from my home for an hour in that hope, but at 11am I simply put on my jacket and left. I told her that I would be reaching at around 12:30pm, considering all the delays in the train……and it was real heartening to see her concern for me, as she made sure that I call her multiple times during my train journey from Tilaknagar to Vile-Parle .
