Dear Kapish,
Today was your very first Parent Teacher Conference (PTC) for Year 2, and I must say, it was a wonderful experience listening to all your teachers. Almost every teacher had something positive to say about you.
We started with Swapna Ma'am, who spoke very highly of how kind and compassionate you are. She told us that you are doing well academically, finishing your work on time and, even more importantly, finding the time to help your classmates when they need it.
From English to Maths to Science, the feedback was remarkably consistent.
"Eliminate a few silly mistakes and you are good to go!"
As parents, that's certainly feedback we are happy to hear!
But what happened after the PTC was perhaps even more encouraging to watch.
After the meeting, we happened to visit Keya to check out our flat and decided to take a small tour of the apartment complex. That's when we came across some of the outdoor gym equipment installed around the property.
Most of the equipment was designed for adults, so naturally, I started trying a few of them out.
And then, to our surprise, you wanted to try all of them too!
Some of the equipment was bigger and taller than you. Some were clearly not designed with a 7½-year-old in mind. But none of that seemed to matter.
You struggled a little, but simply refused to give up until you figured out how to use it.
That little episode told us something that no report card could.
You have an inquisitive mind, and more importantly, you have the willingness to keep trying when something doesn't come easily.
The picture below probably captures this behaviour better than any words I can put together
As I mentioned in my previous blog, the little changes we are seeing in you as you grow are incredibly encouraging.Your academics are progressing well, you are becoming more independent, and now we are beginning to see a wonderful combination of curiosity, kindness and perseverance.
I hope you continue to nurture these qualities as you grow.
Cheers,
Dadoo
